Lyrics

It Ain’t Easy

You walk down the stairs
He’s passed out on the couch again
You pick up the bottles
try to tell him to go to bed
News on TV
The room smells of yesterday’s beer
It’s like he don’t care
It’s like he is running away

You wonder will you see him later as you walk out the door
Or will he be making friends already on the bar room floor

He used to be so funny
He used to be so kind
He used to bring you flowers
And take you out for drinks at night
Now you hardly see him
You miss the touch of a loving man
He only gives out
cause you don’t seem to understand

You wonder will you see him later as you walk out the door
Or will he be making friends already on the bar room floor

It ain’t easy smiling sweetly
When you know
Love dies so slow
It ain’t easy smiling sweetly
When you know
It’s your time to go

You thought about leaving
But you are scared of growing old
Scared of being the only one
Scared of being all alone
So you cry in your sleep
hide away the bitter tears
Keep fooling yourself
Hoping he will change

You wonder will you see him later as you walk out the door
Or will he be making friends already on the bar room floor

It ain’t easy smiling sweetly
When you know
Love dies so slow
It ain’t easy smiling sweetly
When you know
It’s your time to go

There’s nothing here
Left for you

November

When November comes around

It lays a frost on the ground

My body finds it hard to wake up

My mind is lost without a coffee cup

And on a morning just like this

I dream of summer morning mist

In the darkness i beg for some light

like the northern sun in a midsummers night

When November comes around

They put up the Christmas lights all around

Not even sure if they celebrate

or try to remind us how to spend our wage

I can smell the Christmas trees

They cut down thousands every year

The Poor old lady can’t afford to heat her home

How did we get it all so wrong

Some say it’s the best time of the year

So why do I feel like I wanna disappear?

I wanna go somewhere warm and nice

and forget about the freaking ice

But maybe if the snow comes around

Lay’s its blanket on the ground

paints everything white

maybe then we’ll get a bit of light

Greener Grass

Hey fortune teller

Can you look into your crystal ball

and tell me where I am going wrong

Hey gypsy lady

can you read from your cards

can you tell me how I got lost this far

It don’t seem to be

like in those old movies

I used to watch while growing up

Where everybody knew

what they were fighting for

and in the end true love was enough

I am looking for the answer from the bottom of my glass

but it don’t seem to be deep enough

You used to be my anchor now you’re heading for the greener grass

and being alone can be tough

I am looking for the answer something I used to have

only know how good it was once its gone

No I can’t help but wonder did you find your greener grass

or are you still all alone

Still all alone

Can you tell her

Next time you see her

That I am moving on with my life

Even though

I can’t fall asleep alone

Until I pass out from the wine

Life’s cruel irony

Playing it’s tricks on me

Never knew what you had till it’s gone

And you forget about

the mistakes you stumbled on

by the time next one comes along
