Vlog 97 Love songs and studio time warp

Studio can be a bit of a black hole for time. When you really get into a tune, you forget all about the time, tweaking every little detail of the track. And that is exactly what happened to me today 🙂 I started recording the song after my morning run, and sooner than I realised, it was 6pm. But the track is coming together nicely. The problem I have found when working this way, is that you have more time to second guess your self. You start to doubt every little detail, where as when I was just recording the acoustic guitar and the vocal, I didn’t really have time to doubt myself. I am still determined to not let the process of recording to turn into a massive task, that will require more time than what my 52 songs a year schedule allows for.

Don’t get me wrong, it is not a case that I would not have appreciation for those artists who craft one song for months. There is definitely different kind of art to it. But as I have mentioned before, I am a strong believer in progress over perfection 🙂

I also get pretty deep into talking about songwriting and especially writing about the most popular song subject of all time, love.
