The Ballad of a Road Warrior

Being a musician I end up spending a lot of time on the road. But I guess it’s in my blood, as my father was a truck driver. I spent weeks at the time traveling with him, living in the cab of the truck. In many ways dream stuff for a kid growing up. Little did I know back then how much I would now appreciate those memories when he is long gone. But even at that young age I could see the effects of being away from my mother had on me and my father.

And it is not just musicians and truck drivers, there are many professions that require people to spend long hours on  the road and away from their loved ones. I know the traveling part sounds exiting to many. But believe you me, the clamour wears out very fast. The road can become a lonely place very fast.

So this weeks song “The Ballad of a Road Warrior” is for all of us who know what it is like to spend long hours on the road, planes, trains, airports and hotel rooms. It is all of us who get up and go, because we must, because there are bills to pay, dreams to build, or the road simply calls.

Go ahead and grab a download of this weeks song on my Bandcamp page HERE. Also the lyrics of the song are up there as well, as some of you have been asking for them in the past 🙂

And don’t forget to share the song with your friends. It really makes a big difference for me when you do. Also as always I’d love to hear what you think of the song as well.
