Patreon of the arts

I haven’t been as nervous about anything I’ve done in the music business for a while now. But the past week I have literally been on the edge of my seat 😀 This was in the plans for a while now, but I never thought I’d get this nervous about it…

I am talking about Patreon. Patreon is reasonably new platform, that some of my favourite indie artists are using. And thanks to it they have done some fantastic things, that probably would not have happened without Patreon. So for starters, here is a video from the good people of Patreon explaining what it is all about:

So basically you can pledge any amount you choose, to support what I do, the blogging, the weekly songs, the videos and future recordings and concerts. As you know I blog a lot, and release new song weekly, so I thought pledging per creation would be just too much, instead I opted for the monthly option. That way you would not be charged anything more than you set in the beginning. So that is the basics.

Now lets dig in bit deeper 🙂 What I like about Patreon is the fact that it is a direct connection between the artist and the art fan, I am already supporting few artists in Patreon, and I’d guess as I dig deeper in to the community, I’ll probably will be supporting more. Why, because I am a music fan as well 🙂

If you are one of those people who never would consider paying for music, and happily just enjoy what ever the mainstream throws at you, then Patreon probably is not for you. I’ll still be happy to see you Download my tracks from Bandcamp, or stream them in Spotify (even with the annoying adds…) because I want you to be able to listen to my music.

But if you, just like I, look for that little bit extra. If you want to be part of the process. If you want to see even more inside stuff. And if you just want to support what I do, then Patreon is perfect for you. There is a video on my Patreon page, that I struggled to create over few days this week (talk about an emotional roller coaster) which explains what it is all about. I set up different kind f rewards for different level of pledges, but if you have something else in mind, just let me know and we can tinker with it. It is very much a learning curve for me as well 🙂 Also there are some Milestone goals, which I will be probably adding more along the way. But for now I’t starts from feeding my caffeine addiction, covering the basic costs, keeping the roof over my head, making professional videos, recording a studio album with a full band, touring, and even my ultimate longtime dream. So go and have look at the Patreon page, I’d say you enjoy it 🙂

And if you do decide to pledge, you get access to my Patreon feed. You can have a look at some of the stuff that is there already, but most of it is limited to Patreons only. I will be posting a lot of videos and posts that will be exclusively for the people who want to know just that little bit more about the music, what I had in mind while writing particular song or blog post. But most of all, as I mentioned above, you are supporting me doing what I do, sharing music, videos, live shows and writing blog posts. And for that I am for ever grateful.
