Quick tip 206 Wix sites not indexed by Google

I preach regularly about the importance of artists and bands having their own websites. I also exclusively recommend using WordPress(.org) based websites. I know many bands are tempted by the easy setup of platforms like Wix, but these platforms have their limitations and these limitations can be detrimental to the reach of your website.

In the past few weeks the Wix platform has had trouble being indexed by Google, which we know is the biggest search engine and extremely important source of your website traffic. If people don’t find you on Google, the chances are they will not look further. So don’t take the shortcut when designing your website. I’m sure this is a temporary situation and it will be fixed in time, but these are the kind of setbacks artists do not need. WordPress is relatively easy platform to learn and if you learn to use it once, this skill will serve you for years to come.
