Peace

Peace, an original song by J.P. Kallio

Addiction can come in many forms and most of us have come across it in some way. This weeks song “Peace” looks at the addiction from the perspective of the loved one.

Addiction by its nature makes people selfish. The addict only has one priority, and that is their next fix. They have built a defence mechanism around them that will fight against anyone who will try to intervene, or who is not enabling them.

Denial is strong, and you can be guaranteed you are to blame before they are. They have become an expert at laying the guilt. For them it is an easy way to distract from the issue at hand.

In this weeks song the loved one is finally breaking ties with the addict. As much as we might love them, there comes a point where they can have destructive effect on not only themselves but the love ones around them. In my experience, this is the point you just need to walk away. You cannot help someone, if they don’t want to help them selves. This is something I have learned the hard way over the years.

It is hard love, but it is the only thing you can do at the end of the road, otherwise you will be dragged down as well. We can only hope they will find peace some day.

As always you can grab a copy of the song from my Bandcamp page HERE. You can name your own price. If the cash is tight, just put $0.00 on the price and you are good to go. Once again absolutely massive thank you for taking the time to read my ramblings and listen to my music.
