Have a little faith

I talk about this weeks song in a vlog, which you can check out HERE, but I get quite deep into the subject of songwriting. I’ll try to focus more on the actual content of the song in this blog post. So lets get started.

The society we live in places a lot of pressure on people. We are expected to get a good education, buy a house, have a family. All of these things are what we see as kind of stepping-stones for success. But in many ways, they are starting to be outdated. Right now the world around us is changing at a very high-speed. A good education is not a guarantee for getting a job anymore. Having a house does not provide the same security it used to, as most of it is owned by the bank, and all it takes is another downturn in the extremely volatile world economy for many of the house owners to lose it all. And some of us might not dream about having a family, as we might dream about seeing the world, or making a change through our careers.

These “dreams” are pushed on us from a very young age. Therefore too often we just go with it, without allowing ourselves to really dream about the things we want from our lives. This weeks song “Have a little faith” is about observing someone in this situation. Living a life that was designed for them, but does not fulfil them at all. It is a song about the slow realisation that we might be living someone else’s dream. And the song encourages us to have our own dreams, dream big and just go for it.

Lately this has become something I see all around me, so if the song does touch you, or you know someone in this situation, please share it with the world. You can grab yourself a copy of the song from my Bandcamp page HERE. As always, you can name your own price, or just put $0.00 in the price and you are good to go. Once again, thanks for reading, listening and downloading.
