Do you ever feel like you are stuck in a life that some how just does not feel yours? That you feel like you are working so hard, just to pay the bills? I think we all do from time to time. We live in a society where we are told that we need to have certain things and the advertisers push more things in front of our eyes every day. Things we were completely happy without, but now just simply can’t live without. And that is how it is supposed to be.
You see, as long as we believe that as long as we work hard enough for someone else, we will have security. If we work really hard, we might even “make it” some day. As long as we do this, the world of capitalism just keeps churning away on its merry way. The rich will get even more rich, the middle will struggle to keep that “security” our parents taught us to value, and more and more will fall below the poverty line.
But what if we didn’t need all of that stuff? What if the source of our happiness was not the latest model of our favourite mobile phone brand, the latest fashion items, that fancy car or expensive nights out? What if we went back to basics? Started to appreciate the simple things in life? What if the TV advertising, magazines or the billboards had no effect on us? What would the world look like then?
That is what this weeks song “Best Things is all about. You can grab yourself a copy from my Bandcamp page HERE. And if the song resonates with you please share it with the world. And take some time to appreciate the simple things in life 🙂
