31st of July Vlog update

Vlog 259 31st of July 2016 Vlog update

So we have come to the end of the first week of vlogs from the Sliotar’s 2016 summer tour. It really has been a great week, both musically and when it comes to vlogging. Nothing teaches you more about filming and photography than traveling 🙂 Also you can get quite isolated from the world news when you travel, and this can be a good reminder that despite all, the world keeps spinning and the sun keep rising and setting. This can be a good reminder for all of us from time to time.

We still have another full week of tour vlogs ahead of us, so a lot more cool stuff to come. Also the plans for the next trip are in full swing already, but more on that shortly. Also I will dedicate a vlog for some of the lessons I’ve learned on this trip later when I get back home. But now, lets get into the cool stuff that got posted on the vlog this week.

This week’s song is a track about being apart from your loved ones, which is kind of relevant for me when I am on the road. Don’t forget that you can download this weeks song from my Bandcamp page as well. All the details are in the blog post below:

Thinking of you

The first vlog of the week was the beginning of our tour, where we make our way from Dublin to Plzen via Frankfurt. We also have a little snippet from our show in the Zach’s pub:

On the road again

In the second vlog of the week we make our way from Plzen to the beautiful Czech country town of Plumlov, where the wonderful Keltska Noc festival takes a place.    I try to capture for you the first day impressions of the festival, and some of the madness that went down during the Sliotar show:

The road to Keltska Noc

In the past years, Sliotar’s show has been on the second day of the festival, but this year as our show was already on Friday night, we had the full day off. The Saturday always starts with a session, where all the bands from the festival (who are around) are asked to take part. Not all do, but every year we got more and more people involved, so I started jokingly to call it the Plumlov Ceili band, it seems the name has stuck by now 😉

Nothing is safe when J.P. is around 😉 Here is some of the madness from the organisers afterparty at the Keltska Noc festival:

Here’s what the festival organisers do after the festival is done

After the festival we made our way to a wonderful town of Kutna Hora. This was a day off for us and we used it just to be tourists for a day. Kutna Hora is amazing town and I hope I

Kutna Hora

This is something you don’t see everyday, before we leave the Kutna Hora behind we visit the Bone Church. Then we make our way to Prague, where we play a show with the wonderful Hakka Muggies in the Vagon Klub.

This is something you don’t see every day

So that concludes the first week of Vlogs from Sliotar’s 2016 summer tour, have you guys been enjoying them? I’d love to hear your feedback. Before I let you go,  just a little bit of house keeping.  If you enjoy what I do and want to support me, please consider supporting my Patreon campaign. Patreon is a great platform that connects the makers of the art with their audience directly. And by supporting your favourite artists directly, you make sure the artist can keep on making art in the artists terms, not some rules set out by record label big shots, or book publishers to make the art bland enough to try to please every one, but in the end not really fulfilling anyone. If you want to be part of my support system, check out my Patreon page HERE.

Thanks for sticking around and we have another full week of tour vlogs ahead of us, so keep tuning in 🙂
