26th of October Blog update

autumncolorsI am after having a crazy week. The new album deadline is here and I had to get the rest of the tracks finished. I would have liked to have them finished earlier, in fact much earlier, but hey that’s life ๐Ÿ™‚ In the end, I am really happy with the way it turned out. I seem to work well under a little bit of stress. In the end though, a silly autumn cold got me… Also I managed to get out for a few nice walks and the picture on this page is the autumn colours from one of the lovely parks we have here in Dublin ๐Ÿ™‚

Now Monday here in Ireland is a bank holiday, and I am going to take the day off and try to unplug and reset my brain, let my body heal itself before I take on another musical adventure ๐Ÿ™‚ So let’s get into what got posted on my blog this week:

This weeks song Watch The Rain has got some nice feedback already. Once again it was a collaboration with me and Matthew Gillian. Check it out here:

Watch The Rain

On Monday, inspired by the already legendary lecture by Iggy Pop in BBC, I started to think about how we value music these days.Read all about it here:

The Value of music

The dropping record sales have been in the news for nearly fifteen years now and it’s hard to surplice me with the figures. But when I heard that in the first three quarters of 2014 not one of this year’s album’s have gone platinum. But I still think this is more of a major label problem:

2014 major label problems

What I have become to realise lately is the importance of being true to myself in my music. It’s been a constant battle throughout my career. But now I have a clear view of this subject and you can read it all here:

Be true to yourself

To sum up a very music business oriented week on my blog, I wanted to remind both the artists and the listener how important music is for us:

What you do does matter

And there it is, all this weeks posts for you reading pleasure. Hope you like them as much as I like writing and sharing them with you ๐Ÿ™‚
