You know I noticed something cool yesterday. I was reminded of some simple things in life, things we all know or should know, but especially when the winter bogs down on us and the days get colder, shorter and darker it can be easy to forget. I was reminded that the attitude I carry with me is up to me, even if I feel down, I can pick myself up and make an effort and be nice to people around me. And guess what? It actually feels so damn great to be nice, that you can’t help but smile and sooner than you think, even if the day started a bit on a grey side, you’ll be feeling fantastic.
Think about it, when you are in a queue to get your morning coffee on your way to work, be nice to the people who serve you. Simple “Good morning, how are you today?” goes a long way. Or to people at your work, even the ones you don’t get on so well with, I bet you will feel better after being nice to them.
And I am taking this even step further. I will try to help someone with something every day. It can be the simplest thing, like opening a door, or helping someone online looking for information. And I don’t expect anything in return. The “feel good” feeling I get from doing it is enough 🙂 But at the same time, I do believe what goes around comes around, or you could just call is a karma if you like. Life is too damn short to be wasting it being miserable over small things.
Now think what would happen if we all would do it? And I know what you are going to say, “Nice thought, but everyone is never going to do it”. Well here’s the thing, It does not matter what others do, it’s what you do that matters the most to you. Think about that one for a second. Let it really sink in. And when you are ready, get up go out there and make the world around you just that little bit better place and have a great week 🙂
